Contaminated Land Implementation in England

The Statutory Guidance to the Contaminated Land (England) Regulations was laid before Parliament on Monday of this week, 7th February. This allows for at least 40 sitting days of Parliament before a 1 April 2000 implementation date, which has been confirmed by the DETR as the planned implementation date. The guidance presented to Parliament contains a few minor amendments to the guidance published in the September 1999 consultation paper and the DETR are hoping to publish the final version on their website by Friday 11th February (http://www.detr.gov.uk). The Regulations will be laid before Parliament shortly.
