RIDDOR Reporting - New Reporting Centre

United Kingdom

The HSE is simplifying reporting procedures under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995.

For all incidents occurring after 1 April 2001 employers and others who are subject to the reporting requirements will be able to comply their obligations by contacting the Incident Contact Centre (ICC), thus eliminating the need to identify the relevant local agency or other local enforcing authority. Reporting to the local HSE office or local enforcement authority by phone and on the current statutory forms will remain as an option, but these will be forwarded to the ICC.

The following channels will be available for reports:

Telephone: 0845 300 9923 (Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm)

Facsimile: 0845 300 9924

E-mail: [email protected]

Internet: www.riddor.gov.uk

Post:
Incident Contact Centre
Caerphilly Business Park
Caerphilly
CF83 3GG

In taking advantage of these arrangements the employer or other reporting person will not have a record of a statutory RIDDOR form, so the ICC will send out confirmation copies of reports which should be checked for accuracy and retained.
