Fighting fraud: obtaining searching, freezing & tracing orders

United Kingdom

Fraud, in its many forms, knows no national boundaries. Rapid advances in information technology have enabled fraudsters to move funds quickly and easily between accounts across the world. Those acting for the victims of fraud increasingly need to take action in the courts of many different jurisdictions to recover funds, often simultaneously.

The firms of CMS have therefore produced a guide summarising the key civil powers to combat fraud, namely search, freezing and tracing orders, in 16 key financial jurisdictions in Europe and North America.
