Worldwide hotel management agreement trends

United Kingdom

CMS Cameron McKenna has produced a review of recently negotiated hotel management agreements and leases, in conjunction with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. The results are based on an analysis of over 80 hotel management agreements and leases negotiated over the last four years across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

The previous survey, conducted in 2001, revealed a significant swing in power to owners. Our new survey, however, shows that only minor changes have occurred globally over the last four years. This is because the key commercial terms of hotel management agreements have moved as far as possible in favour of owners.
