Health and safety calendar – July 2005

United Kingdom

Attached is a link to our new health and safety calendar. The calendar covers key dates for proposed and existing legislation and policy relating to major health and safety issues in the EU and the UK.

The calendar sets out the next major stage for proposed legislation and the enforcement dates for current legislation, as well as closing dates for major consultation papers relating to the EU and the UK.

In particular, it will provide a useful tool for health and safety managers tracking new legislation in order to control risks and improve its performance through a health and safety management system such as OHSAS 18001.

Key developments in this months calendar:

  • Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations (COMAH) 2005 came into force on 1st July
  • Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 come into force on 6th July
  • UK consultation on IAEA regulations on the transport of radioactive materials closes on 22nd July

The calendar is updated monthly and a reminder sent out each month with a link to the updated calendar.
