Czech Republic: Insolvency Registry delayed until 2008

Czech Republic

The launch of the Insolvency Registry, due to be implemented on 1 July 2007 under the new Insolvency Act, has been delayed until 1 January 2008.

The Insolvency Registry is a publicly-available electronic database containing lists of insolvency administrators and debtors, and the files relating to ongoing insolvency proceedings.

The Insolvency Registry is a pilot project for the digitisation of the Czech judicial system. Its postponement is to allow judges and judicial staff more time to familiarise themselves with the system before implementation.
