Designing Future Pension Benefits Seminar - 30 November 2010

United Kingdom

We still have some spaces for the pensions breakfast seminar on 30 November 2010. Please see details below:

There are a number of changes being made to the pensions landscape which will have a significant impact on how employers design pension benefits for their employees.

  • On 14 October the Coalition Government announced significant reductions to the tax allowances for pension benefits. These changes may affect even those who are not considered to be high earners.
  • On 27 October the Government announced that it is to proceed with the requirement for automatic enrolment of employees into a pension scheme but will be adopting the changes to this new regime which have been recommended by the independent review body. This will affect all employers.
  • The Government is also currently considering proposals to abolish the scope for employers to operate a default retirement age and is bringing forward the timing of increases in the state pension age, both of which will increase the need to consider age discrimination claims when designing pension benefits.

The seminar will look at the implications of these changes for employers. We will be joined at the seminar by Richard Abramson, a senior consultant from Towers Watson who will help put the new legal requirements into the context of designing future pension benefits.

The seminar will also look at the apparent aim of the Government and the Pensions Regulator to increase the regulatory burden on employers relating to defined contribution scheme governance.

The seminar, which is being held at our offices in Aldersgate Street, London, will start at 8.45am (registration from 8.15am) and will end at 10.50am.

We hope you will be able to join us. To attend please RSVP here.

Please note there is no charge for this seminar but space is limited.
