New Lease Accounting Standards

Last Summer the International Accounting Standards Board and the (US) Financial Accounting Standards Board published an exposure draft setting out their joint proposals to amend IAS17 and the corresponding guidance to USGAAP. These proposals will have significant and different ramifications for both landlords and their tenants as they will affect the rules defining the accounting treatment for leases. We will focus on the implications for tenants.
