Slovakia

Comments regarding the draft of the new General Permission to provide postal services may be filed until 31.1.2012

In reference to the new Postal Services Act which represents full liberalisation of the postal market, the Postal Regulatory Office published a draft of the new General Permission under which postal services will be provided by all alternative postal services providers. The Slovak version of the Permission is available here.

Comments regarding the published proposal of the General Permission can be submitted no later than 31.01.2012. Based on an evaluation of the comments, the Postal Regulatory Office will draft the final wording of the General Permission. Subsequently, 30 days following its publishing of the final version, all previously registered postal services providers will have to re-register. When making their registration, they will have to state whether they will provide interchangeable postal services, which triggers the obligation to contribute to the compensation fund used for financing the universal postal service.
