Poland: Bona Polska fined for anti-competitive behavior

Poland

Bona Polska has been fined a total of PLN 82,000 (c. €19,500) by Polish competition authority (UOKiK) for anti-competitive behavior.

The company is a national distributor of products for the installation, maintenance and renovation of wooden floors produced by the Swedish group Bona AB.

UOKiK found that:

• between 2000 and 2012, Bona Polska had imposed fixed and minimum resale prices on its distributors,
• between 2003 and 2012, it had prohibited the sale of its products to territories where one of its distributors was already active.

Resale price maintenance and market-sharing arrangements are considered serious violations of competition law.

According to UOKiK, the company has already paid the fine and did not appeal against the decision.
