Winners of the Second Renewable Energy Tender for Wind Energy Resources announced

In the Official Gazette on 7 November 2018, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (“Ministry”) announced Renewable Energy Resource Areas (Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynakları Alanları, “YEKA”) wind farm projects for four (4) different locations (Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Aydın and Muğla), each with a capacity of 250 megawatts (MW) for a total installed capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW).

The Turkish energy company Enerjisa Üretim Santralleri A.Ş. (joint venture company of Sabancı Holding and E.ON SE) and Enercon Rüzgar Enerji Santrali Kurulum Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti. won the bids for the second renewable energy tenders. Please see below the winners for each tender:

  1. Balıkesir: offered lowest price was $3.53 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) (Enercon);
  2. Çanakkale: offered lowest price was $3.67 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) (Enerjisa);
  3. Aydın: offered lowest price was $4.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) (Enerjisa); and
  4. Muğla: offered lowest price was $4 per per kilowatt-hour (kWh) (Enercon).
