CMS Guide to COVID-19 & privacy: What to look for when restarting workplaces in Central and Eastern Europe

CEE

In the last few months, organisations across Europe have imposed various obligations on their employees, visitors and customers to fight the spread of COVID-19. The underlying measures began with the completion of questionnaires on health conditions and have progressed to requiring temperature checks of people entering work premises and installing thermal cameras at office entrances. Today, some employees whose presence is essential for business continuity receive regular blood tests.

Our CEE Data Protection Team has published a comprehensive data-protection guide for those employers who are considering reactivating their workplaces, and those that did not shut down their on-site operations. The guide includes a brief, one-page summary for each of the12 CEE jurisdictions (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and the Ukraine) and includes an overview of key data-protection issues.
