EU anti-dumping investigation of Chinese imports of sweetcorn

Europe

On 9 December 2024, the EU opened an anti-dumping investigation concerning EU imports of certain prepared or preserved sweetcorn in kernels originating in the People’s Republic of China, which could lead to substantial anti-dumping duties on future imports.

The product under investigation for alleged dumping is sweetcorn as follows:

Sweetcorn in kernels, prepared or preserved (i) by vinegar or acetic acid, not frozen and (ii) otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid, not frozen, other than products of heading 2006 originating in the People's Republic of China.

The product under investigation is currently classified under the CN codes ex 2001 90 30 (TARIC code 2001 90 30 10) and ex 2005 80 00 (TARIC code 2005 80 00 10).

Affected parties, including importers and EU users wishing to comment and defend their interests, can participate in the investigation. Deadlines for participation can be as short as 7 days, so quick action is required if parties intend to participate.
