As more and more companies look to commence and expand business in the PRC, following its recent entry into the World Trade Organisation, it is perhaps timely to reflect upon the PRC track record of what happens when, as has occurred on a number of occasions since 1998, a PRC business does not go according to plan and the company requires restructuring or is apt for more serious medicine, namely bankruptcy (as a corporate collapse is referred to in the PRC. In Hong Kong the term used in relation to a company is liquidation).
