Patents Act 2004 receives Royal Assent

Following publication of the Patents Bill on 16th January, the Patents Act 2004 received Royal Assent on 22nd July. The new Act amends the 1977 statute to bring UK law into line with the European Patent convention and other international treaties and also contains provisions to assist with UK enforcement and dispute resolution.
