European parliament adopts text of the EU AI Act and calls for public consultation

On 14 June 2023, the European Parliament formally adopted its compromise text on the EU AI Act (https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/TA-9-2023-0236_EN.pdf), paving the way for the interinstitutional negotiations known as "trilogue” that will take place in the latter half of 2023. This compromise text represents the European Parliament's position during the trilogue.

The MEPs primarily responsible for the adoption of the AI Act want to directly engage with stakeholders to further improve the draft legislation, and have organised a public consultation on the EP’s compromise text.

During the public consultation, companies affected with the EU AI Act have a chance to submit proposals for specific textual revisions/redlines of the AI Act’s EP compromise text. This feedback will steer the MEP’s strategy in the trilogue.
